Goodbye American Dream?
Victoria and David just announced that they are planning to leave the United States and return with their children to London. Though they have only been living in LA for a brief time, the couple predict greater success and popularity back in England. While they have made some new friends in America, Victoria wants to be closer to her best girlfriends, the other four members of the Spice Girls- most of whom still reside in England. She is also hoping that the group will make their way into the studio and record a new album together. Posh and Becks are currently searching for a luxury mansion in central London, though intend to possibly also purchase a smaller Beverly Hills abode for when they want to come back and visit Tinseltown.

I think the fact that the Beckhams' move to America was so short-lived is predominantly because it was a publicity stunt. I mean, do you remember all of the hype surrounding the move? Victoria even had a tv show to document the event -- I think it was called Coming to America. And bringing Beckham to the LA Galaxy was as much a publicity drive for David, who has since gained endorsements such as Armani Underwear, as it was for the sport of soccer in the US. A move back to the UK is sure to find much of the same response and bring with it the huge following it shored up during the Beckhams' brief stay in the US.

I agree that the move to LA was more for publicity than a real desire to move there. There was so much hype surrounding the family's move. The media used it as an opportunity to sell pictures, air television shows about it, and tried to popularize soccer in America. However, England seems to be more suited to the family; altough I'm sure the states will miss having David Beckham.
